Mary died a long time ago.
My name is Lady.
~
I neither fear death nor demons. I hunt the creatures lurking in the shadows, when the night crawls its way up the city roofs, tainting everything. Sometimes the stench of blood won't be washed away from my hands, nor does every scar heal I receive. For I am a huntress. There are few who deserve my trust. I once made a vow to eliminate every demon there is.- But I learned that sometimes, mankind can be worse. Who am I to talk that way you think? - You might be right for my name was given to me by a first class devil.

@sanguinedevil [A hunter’s life for me]

sanguinedevil:

Lady had not even blinked twice at the state of the shop as she entered; more likely than not, she’d expected to find it in the same state that it had been in when she’d left. A little dusty, a little (or a lot) messy. Dante was not known to be thecleanest person (it was a little bit of laziness and a little bit of the fact that he didn’t have time to clean) — and somehow, Lady had not complained about it once. It was almost like there was a mutual understanding between the hunters, and for that, he was grateful.

“Hey, I’m not grinnin’ like anything.” He responds, feigning a rather childish pout. “You’re seeing things, I’m telling you! If anything, I was — smiling, ‘cause I’m overjoyed to see you back. That’s it.” A nod with his explanation, although .. his pout has already faded, and in its place is the grin he wore previously. Making his words that much harder to believe.

This was how they were with each other, though; smart remarks and jokes were how they showed affection. Something like that —
image“No worries; it’s clean. Very funny, by the way.” Dante responds, pointing lazily in at the towel she now held in her hand. Moving to close the door, the half-devil steps in one of the small puddles on the floor and lets out a groan. He’d have to clean that up later, at the very least. Ah, well; it could wait until after the ever-conveniently fresh pizza on his desk was eaten. By the both of them, at that. Quirking a brow as he makes his way back to his desk, he gives the woman a curious look.

“— Pizza’s already out on the desk, anyway; beer’s where it always is, if you’re up for one. Get yourself dried up, pull up a seat, and tell me all about these ‘travels’ of yours; I’m dyin’ of curiosity over here.”
image
A snicker. Though, in all seriousness — he was quite curious as to where the other had been all this time. And besides, pizza and stories went pretty well together, or so he’d found.

imageOverjoyed huh.” A chuckle on cold rosy lips when she made her way to the bathroom. Not believing the red clad hunter before her very eyes she sniffed on it like a dog. - And she smelled like one at that. But the towel seemed to pass. “Good.”

While talking about the obvious. - The smell of the Pizza on the desk. - She threw the fluffy towel over her shoulders. “I have to admit.” And with that she started to get rid of her flooded crimson boots. “I am impressed.” Wringing out her raven hair after tossing the boots aside.

“By the look on your handsome demon face you must be very happy to see me.” Holding back the laughter that’d usually follow, Ladys’ mismatched coloured eyes just flickered. Then the door closed. Hiding the pale face bit by bit until the sound of the door snap told him she’d take a few minutes. The huntress wasn’t one to be all girly or womanly taking more than ten minutes for a usual shower.- But there obviously was a change since the last time they hunted together. Having her own business now.

“I won’t take long. - And leave me some Pizza!” after the final shouting directed at Dante, the only sound that followed was the noise of the shower. Water running down her curves and warming cold limbs. Raising her arms she streched them up to the warmth. She blinked. The shower head was placed up high, reminding her on the difference in height. Lady smiled and lightly shook her head. She couldn’t even reach it. - What she could reach was the shampoo. Surprised it didn’t smell like strawberries she took a bit of the fluid and started to clean her hair from the demonic blood. She wasn’t even aware of it’s scent anymore. -Until she hit the shower that was.

imageLetting out a sigh at the fact that her skin was warmed up she got out and wrapped the big sized towel around her slim waist. Opening the window and throwing her stuff into the laundry basket she opened the door again. “I’m alive.” Blessed were hot showers after a hard days work, - and the mood improvement. Leaning over to the hunters’ face she stated: “I. Smell. It.” Starting without her. “Not the way to threat a Lady ya know.” A sideglance of the bluegreen eye. “How should I tell stories when I’m all hungry like a shipwrecked?” Taking a seat on the chair she pulled to the desk she jumped up again to get them beer. “There you go.” Opening it on the edge of the old desk she grinned sheepishly. “Whoops! Sorry.” Despite him putting his shoes on top of it, this desk was a new one and antique as well. She still wondered how he could even afford it. Payback for not paying her money back was a bitch.

Dim freckles of light shine their rays across my dusty room.

Where gunsmoke fills my lungs as I inhale deeply.
